On Boxing Day a phone call was made to ERYC at 11.00 to inform them that the water was rising. At 13.00 workmen arrived with two mobile pumps. Eventually these started to operate at 14.30 by which time the village was flooded.
The mobile pumps remained in the village until a few days ago.
An estimated 25% of flooding in Stamford Bridge can be prevented for a relatively minor cost. This can be achieved by having two permanent pumps in the village for immediately use whenever required.
If elected I will be campaigning for this.
