On 22 March 2016, as part of my election campaign, I started to raise the issue of a London Street crossing.
I can now confirm that ERYC “have carried out the pedestrian crossing and traffic survey on London Street in Pocklington and – based on all the evidence- we agree that a new pedestrian crossing is justified for this location.”
“A zebra crossing is the most appropriate facility for this location so I will now discuss this requirement with my colleagues and we will add a new zebra crossing into a work programme to be built as soon as we can fund it. There are a number of design issues particular to this site, including the bend around to Bridge Street, the footpath through to the school and the limited kerbside parking that will need to be resolved before it can be built. I will be in contact again to advise when the design work is likely to start.”
