For many years now it has been the policy of Barmby Moor Parish Council to name new developments after those buried in the official War Graves Cemetery in the grounds of St. Catherine’s Church, Barmby Moor.

Over the past few months Barmby Moor Parish Council have had many rejections from ERYC in their request to name a new street James Close. I only found out about this a few weeks ago.

I discussed the matter with the Clerk, phoned the ERYC officer and the situation was resolved in minutes. The street will be named James Close.

I am at a loss why my fellow Councillors, West and Mole, failed to assist. All that was required was a quick phone call from a Ward member.
