A1079 Cherry Burton to Barmby Moor Carriageway Resurfacing Hayton Dual Carriageway – Westbound

Works are due to commence on Tuesday 30th August on the resurfacing of the next section of the above scheme. This section is the westbound carriageway (towards York) of the dual carriageway near Hayton. The contractor carrying out the works is Britcon (UK) Ltd who expect that this section will take approximately three weeks to complete.

To enable the works to be carried out safely and in the shortest possible time a contra-flow
system will be in place on the eastbound carriageway with one lane running in each direction.

The contra-flow should be in place for two weeks whilst work is carried out during the day.
In the third week work will be carried out at night between 7.00pm and 6.00am Monday to Friday under traffic signal control. A speed limit of 30mph will also be in place for the duration of the works.

The road to Everingham, Thorpe-le-Street, will also be closed and diversions will be in place whilst the contra-flow is in operation.
