Con Councillor Mike Stathers, twice in recent weeks, has harped on about the need for BT and ERYC to speed up the installation of the Broadband programme to Nunburnholme, Londesborough, Burnby and Hayton.

Stathers failed to mention that his Cons signed the contract and agreed the programme.

It gets worse, BT are not installing the latest advancement in broadband technology, fibre optic. Instead the programme will use the slower, old technology. of copper wire.

Once installed, the villages Stathers represents, will have a second class, dated and sub standard broadband system.
