Ex-Councillor Arthur Hodgson – Aggravated Trespass

On 6 August 2015 Ex-Councillor Arthur Hodgson entered Withernsea Market despite the fact that he had been informed, by the owner, that he was not permitted to do so. Despite this he refused to leave the Market when asked to do so. Hodgson accepts these facts.

As such I am advised that Hodgson committed the criminal offence of Aggravated Trespass.

Withernsea Market

Mathew Buckley

Although Mathew Buckley, ERYC Head of Legal, has been aware of this fact for over a year, he has not advised the owner to refer the matter to the Police.

Humberside Police encourages residents to report crime so these can be accurately reflected in their statistics. This allows Police resources to be allocated appropriately.

ERYC employees, especially the Head of Legal, must always advise members of the public to report crime. Mathew Buckley failed to do this.

I believe that, as the Head of Legal, Mathew Buckley has conducted  himself in a manner that could reasonably be regarded as bringing his office and the authority into disrepute. I have registered a formal complaint against him with Nigel Pearson, Chief Executive ERYC.

Police Action

Withernsea Police Station

Today I accompanied the owner of the Market to Withernsea Police Station to report the crime.
