Residents may recall that in May I revealed that Pocklington Town Council (PTC) had failed to adequately redact their Emergency Plan.

As this was discussed at last nights PTC meeting I can now reveal that this was in breach of Data Protection legislation. The Information Commissioner’s Office is currently in discussion with PTC to address this breach and advise how they can avoid breaches in future.

The breaches included unlawfully publishing residents contact details.

I have been able to assist the PTC Clerk on this.
