Those who are considering putting their names forward to be a Pocklington Town Council (PTC) councillor are asking two simple questions:

1. How does PTC function?
2. What is the minimum requirement a new councillor would have to fulfil in their role as a PTC councillor?

How does PTC function?

Even as a Ward Councillor I am unable to answer this questions. I believe there are various “committees”. But I am unaware how many or what they are for. I can find no minutes for these “committees”.

I have emailed the Town Clerk to request links to the minutes for each “committee” for the current and past financial year? If they are not on the PTC website I have requested them in electronic format?

Minimum Requirement of a PTC Councillor

Every Parish/Town council has a fundamental obligation to carry out their statutory duties. Much of what PTC do is not a statutory duty. As such I have no idea what the minimum requirement of a PTC councillor is.
