Many have questioned the need for the new Pavement crossing footpath especially given the fact that it cost £15,000. I did not support it believing the money should be used instead for much-needed dropped kerbs.
To add insult to injury the kerb stones must only be 6mm high and they are approximately 50mm. To wheelchair users this is a massive difference.
To make matters worse the bollard is an obstruction to both wheelchair users (especially those in motorised wheelchairs) and those with visual impairment.
I have requested that ERYC remove the bollard and drop the kerbs to 6mm.
