Open Public Meeting – Encouraging Claude

I would like to thank Councillor Mole for his reply to my invitation.

Dear Andy,

Thank you for your email.

The whole point of the Surgeries that Kay and I hold each month are for that very purpose. Answering and redressing, where it is required, residents questions and concerns.

Kind regards,

Claude

Encouraging Claude

Dear Claude,

Thank you for your reply.

Surgeries certainly address the aspect you refer to but an open public meeting allows for this and also for residents to listen to that which is raised by others. Of course some may have no questions but are interested in the work of Ward Councillors.

As you will be aware all six Parish Councillors in the Pocklington Provincial Ward have wonderful public participation sessions before each Parish Council meeting where residents can ask questions of the Parish Councillors. Some in attendance may have no questions but are interested in the questions raised by their fellow residents and the answers given by the Parish Councillors.

I believe as Ward Councillors we should now and again follow the wonderful example of the Parish Councillors. After all they engage in this manner on a monthly basis.

Could I please encourage you to discuss the open meeting suggestion with Kay?

Regards,

Cllr Andy Strangeway
