Railway Street Parking – ERYC Entrapment Shame

In recent weeks numerous residents have received parking tickets for not parking within the white lines on Railway Street.

Indeed on one recent visit three vehicles in a row received parking tickets. These photos taken on Saturday show how four residents are in danger of receiving a parking ticket.

As can be seen from the photo above ERYC have deliberately narrowed the parking bay.

Legislation states such parking areas must be between 1.8m to 2.7m wide. ERYC have allowed only 1.92m on Railway Street despite the fact that many vehicles are 2m wide and there is plenty of space to make the parking bays wider.

I am in no doubt that this is entrapment. I have requested ERYC to use the money they have received from the issuing of parking tickets over recent weeks to widen the parking bays. Failure to do so is to continue the entrapping of residents.
