In Double Yellows – Disabled Badge Holders I explained how a Pocklington resident had contacted me with regards parking on double yellow lines when a disabled blue badge is displayed.

ERYC have confirmed the position which is summed up in this exchange.

Me – “In essence – if the double yellows apply four 24 hours a blue badge holder my park for up to three hours on the double yellow lines so long as they display their blue badge?   Please confirm is this is correct.”

ERYC –  “In its most simple form the answer to this is yes, but there are lots of other bits to consider which the driver should read in their blue book for example as you mention not to cause an obstruction.”

NB: No obstruction is caused unless there is an intent to cause an obstruction. Please see The Highways Act.
