Yorkshire Water have confirmed that within the next two weeks they will check out the manholes in Sutton Upon Derwent which are causing concern for the residents as when vehicles drive over, it causes the house to shake.

“I’m sorry about the problems with the noisy manholes throughout the village. I can fully appreciate that these are causing concerns for the residents.

I have arranged for one of our team to visit to check the cover in question and also check other manhole covers in the village. We will be doing this by 15 January 2018.

In future, please ask the residents to contact us straight away if they’re having problems, so that we can visit as soon as possible.

I will contact you by 19 January 2018, to discuss our next steps after we’ve been out.”
