I was shocked to learn that an officer at the Francis Scaife Leisure Centre, Pocklngton has informed residents that if their GP belonged to York Clinical Commissioning Groups they are unable to access any GP referrals. For example: exercise on prescription.
This effects all residents in Pocklington and the surrounding villages attending Beckside Health Centre given a GP Referral for exercise at the Francis Scaife Leisure Centre, Pocklngton.
This does not effect people using the Francis Scaife Leisure Centre and paying for their services.
I have referred the matter to a senior ERYC officer as I believe there are two options:
Option 1 – The officer is misinformed. If this is correct I have requested a definitive statement stating the true position to share with residents as soon as possible. In addition I have requested that the officers at Francis Scaife are informed of the true position.
Option 2 – The officer is correct. If the officer is correct I have requested that this is investigated and corrected so that residents in Pocklington Provincial have the same access to services via GP referrals as all other East Riding residents.
