Ongoing Work For ERYC At Stamford Bridge

The following is a copy of a letter being delivered today to residents of Viking Road Stamford Bridge, informing them of the progress of the ERYC road works in the village.

This is not to be confused with the work being undertaken by Avant Homes, who are experiencing problems with their sewer connection at the east end of the village.

A166 Highway Improvements, Stamford Bridge

Further to the previous letter issued at the beginning of January we would like to inform you that works will be starting on Church Road/Viking Road from 26 February.

As a result of the problems experienced by Avant Homes to their sewer connection on the A166 and the expected change in weather conditions over the coming week our contractor Cemex are able to resource the re-kerbing works to Viking Road and at the junction with Church Road.

Work was due to commence here on 5 March, but can be brought forward in the programme. Upon completion of the sewer connection the final resurfacing of the A166 will be carried out, but this should not affect the progress on Viking Road. Works to Viking Road and Church Road are expected to last for 4 weeks. The closure of Viking Road will commence on 5 March as originally intended. Vehicular access to properties may require driving around the diversion during some parts of the construction. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

These works form part of a larger scheme of improvement works along the A166 which also includes resurfacing at Garrowby Hill and a further section of resurfacing west of Fridaythorpe.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience that these works may cause.
