The recent repair work of a sewer pipe in Sutton Upon Derwent by Yorkshire Water caused concern for residents as there was a delay in cleaning up the area of the playground after.
I would like to thank Yorkshire Water for the following apology. This will be followed up with confirmation, hopefully next week. that the site is fully cleaned and safe to use
“My colleague has escalated your complaint regarding the repair of the sewer pipe and subsequent clean up in Sutton upon Derwent.
First of all, I’d like to apologise. We’re really sorry for the delay in the cleaning up the playground following our work to fix the burst sewer pipe. We would normally endeavour to finish the clean up as quickly as we can, but recent bad weather has resulted in delays. Our team are visiting today to do a thorough clean up of the area. Again, we apologise for the delay and any inconvenience or distress this has caused.
Once I’ve had feedback that the area has been thoroughly cleaned up I shall send you an update.”
Credit is also due to Sutton Upon Derwent Parish Council for working with myself and Yorkshire Water to resolve this issue.
