Subject: Bridlington Golf Course – Investigation Request

Dear Lee,

I am sure you will have seen the coverage in local media over the past couple of weeks with regards Bridlington Golf Course and its sale.

It appears to me that ERYC are discussing the sale of the Golf Course for £750,000 in full knowledge that the Golf Club will immediately sell one 3.5 acre hole for £1,650,000.

As ERYC are currently receiving £45,000 per year in rent from the Golf Club it makes no sense to sell the whole course for £750,000. Why are ERYC agreeing to in effect give the Golf Club £900,000 of tax payers money plus £45,000 per year for a 90 plus acre site – what comes next – a whole housing development, hotel and leisure facilities?

As I believe this may be conspiracy to defraud, as an Independent ERYC Ward Councillor, could I please request that Humberside Police undertake an investigation?

Regards,

Cllr Andy Strangeway
