Sutton Upon Derwent School Crossing: New Count

I am pleased to confirm that ERYC have agreed to undertake a new count to look into the whether Sutton Upon Derwent School crossing meets the criteria for a Crossing Patrol Officer.

An ERYC officer has stated:

“We haven’t as yet taken a new count so we’ll look to get that organised. In the event that it does not meet the criteria, then the Parish would be able to fund a post (presuming someone could be recruited – this is often the biggest challenge). For insurance cover and to meet the legal requirements for a patrol, they would need to be an employee – as the school is still an East Riding of Yorkshire Council establishment, a member of staff could be trained as a patrol.”
