Overnight it has been drawn to my attention that a small group of residents would like me to take part in a debate.

Conservative ERYC Councillor Kay West

Prior to the by-election in April 2016 West Wolds Radio invited all the candidates to a debate. Sadly the Conservative candidate Pocklington Town Council Councillor Paul West failed to accept the invitation. Thus no debate.

Over the past three years I have offered numerous public debates to many Conservative Councillors. All failed to accept the invitation. Thus no debate.

Offer 1

Before purdah on March 20 I am happy to attend a public debate with my fellow Ward Councillors Conservatives Kay West and Claude Mole.

Offer 2

During the election campaign I am happy to attend a public debate with all three Conservative candidates – Kay West, Paul West and David Sykes.

At both debates I would happily engage in a question and answer session with my fellow Councillors/candidates. I would also be happy for this to be followed by a question and answer session from residents.

I await acceptance from the Conservatives to move the two offers forward. I have sent an invitation to Claude and Kay.
