I am disappointed to learn that Yorkshire Party ERYC candidate for Wolds Weighton, Peter Hemmerman, has slurred the young Conservative candidate, Leo Hammond, by stating “get a slice of life before representing residents”.
Whilst I don’t fully agree with Leo and I do not believe in party politics I fully support the need for “12 good men and true”.
To achieve this there needs to be the broadest possible representation at County Hall. This includes political opinion, life experience, gender, religion, sexuality etc.. and it most certainly includes age.
County Hall is currently filled with Councillors who are well past their sell by date.
Everyone should welcome younger candidates this includes Peter Hemmerman and the Yorkshire Party.
