As we are into election season this simple question needs answering – What is the purpose of ERYC and Councillors?

The purpose of ERYC, like all local authorities, is to do as a collective what the individual cannot; provide services and amenities, in accordance with statute.

The purpose of a Councillor is to ensure, on behalf of residents, that those employed by ERYC – the Officers – do their jobs.

Sadly, many Councillors fail this most simple of tasks, especially those Councillors who are primarily committed to represent Political Parties.
