East Riding residents will be shocked to learn that Humberside Police are abandoning any responsibility for the Driffield CCTV system.
At the Driffield Town Council (DTC) CCTV Committee meeting held on Monday 24 June PC M Phillips said he had been told by his superior that Humberside Police would not take on any responsibility for the system.
This does not bode well for CCTV systems across the East Riding, especially those in Pocklington and Market Weighton.
In the public interest, I will always welcome the opportunity to work with reasonable key stakeholders as I have with DTC. The minutes of the DTC CCTV Committee June meeting demonstrates this. They also highlight various issues with the Driffield CCTV system that is likely to be of concern for the operation of many CCTV systems across the East Riding
