As concerns have been raised with me regards the number of CCTV cameras Market Weighton Town Council and Driffield Town Council have erected I have submitted a Freedom of Information request to both.

I have requested information regards:

1. All the locations of the cameras and
2. Any relevant signage and wording

Big Brother Everywhere – Civil Liberties Ignored

Over 30% of CCTV cameras in the EU are in the UK. Those in favour justify their use as a deterrent to and for the detection of crime. This is clearly false as the UK is plagued with litter while countries with less CCTV cameras are not.

Civil liberties must never be ignored at the cost of a false belief that crime is being addressed.
