Two days after Paul Staines, Director of Environment, Hambleton District Council (HDC) (click on the link to read) confirmed that HDC had failed to address litter as per the Environmental Protection Act 1990 – 89 (1) Steven Lister, Director of Leisure and Communities, HDC was still attempting to blame others.
When questioned about the alleged anti-social behaviour that was used as a reason for the Leeming Bar Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) he stated:
“The various acts of anti-social behaviour including, littering and human excrement being left in or near local premises. These acts are associated with, and as a consequence of, lorry drivers sleeping in their vehicles overnight in these locations.”
I politely suggest that Mr Lister must consider his position for blaming a group of people for the failure of HDC to fulfil its statutory duty. This is clearly inciting hatred against a group of hard-working people.
Will Mr Lister blame motorhomers, ladies with blond hair, men wearing blue shirts or Leeds United fans for the next failure of HDC?
Mr Lister your conduct is unacceptable you have much to learn from Paul Staines. Until such time as the current Leeming Bar PSPO is revoked my direct action will continue.
