The publishing of the shameful email from Cllr Mike Stathers in ERYC Tories – Bullying, Intimidation And Blackmail? on the evening of Friday 4th December has resulted in the weaving of a rather tangled web.

Monday 7

At 12.56 Mathew Buckley, ERYC Head of Legal and Democratic Services sent an email to me:

“Cllr Nick Coultish has asked me to point out that you have included his personal email address on your website and asks that it is removed.”

I responded positively and reasonable at 14.12:

“If Nick would like to contact me on his personal email to verify and redact his details from the image I will give his request due consideration.” 

As for obvious reasons no ERYC Officer in their official role should assist a Cllr with a personal request at 18.58 I emailed Mathew:

“”On reflection, I note “Cllr Nick Coultish has asked me to point out that you have included his personal email address on your website and asks that it is removed.”

I am puzzled as to in what way this is Council business as it is a personal email; and therefore a personal request. Could you please advise?”

Tuesday 8 

At 09.30 the next morning Mathew informed me that:

“It is irrelevant whether or not it is Council business.”

In response at 12.32 I corrected Mathew:

““It is irrelevant whether or not it is Council business.” You will be aware that this is blatantly false. No ERYC officer in their official capacity should ever agree to assist a Cllr with a personal request.”

Immediately after I registered a formal complaint against Mathew with Caroline Lacey, ERYC Chief Executive:

“As no officer should use their official capacity to assist a Cllr with a personal request could I register a formal complaint against Mathew for doing so?“

NB: Nick has not contacted me to verify.

Nick Coultish – ERYC Councillor and Islamophobe

At this point, I will return to Cllr Nick Coultish.

“Cllr Nick Coultish has asked me to point out that you have included his personal email address on your website and asks that it is removed.”

Of the 67 ERYC Cllrs 48 are Conservative. I published the full email to:

1. Be transparent
2. Demonstrate that despite all 48 are aware of the shameful conduct, not one registered a formal complaint

The simple fact is that as the email had been sent to “third parties” it had already been published in the legal sense. So if 47 had no issue their private email address being published again why did Nick? Surely the Conservative Party would have refused to allow Nick to stand if he had anything in his closet?

It appears that Nick is pro Israel and believes it acceptable to compare the “tide of Islam” to the Nazis’ bombardment of Britain during the Blitz.

That statement is unacceptable. Did his education fail him so badly that he has no understanding of the blitz?

Regards “tide of Islam” My wife and I have enjoyed holidays to Islamic countries in recent years where the hospitality is second to none. Indeed when I pass through New Delhi I stay in a Hotel owned by Muslims and eat in Muslim restaurants. Perhaps Nick should visit such places to broaden his horizons and gain the education he is lacking.
