Yesterday in SBC Dr Strangelove – A Surreal World I exposed the disturbing conduct of Scarborough Borough Council (SBC) Cabinet Member, Cllr Michelle Donohue-Moncrieff. Today I highlight the fallacious reasoning of a further member of the SBC Cabinet – Cllr Tony Randerson.
At Thursday’s meeting Cllr Randerson stated:
“It disgusts me … that our Officers have been criticised (by Councillors) … that is unacceptable. It is an unwritten law”
I politely suggest to our Tony that he acquaints himself with the:
- SBC Members Code of Conduct
- Nolan Principles
- Localism Act 2011
He will note that:
“Holders of public office should … be willing to challenge poor behaviour wherever it occurs.”
That Sir is part of the Seven Principles of Public Life. It is exactly what all law-abiding Cllrs should do. That is the law or perhaps Tony would prefer to call it written law?
Please do explain Cllr Randerson how a law can be unwritten? Do you not realise a law must be written to be a law?
Councillor Randerson, you have much to learn from the very Cllrs you call a disgrace. They respect the law and the Nolan Principles. It is you who is the disgrace … and a dunce.
