Before I make public the full unedited recording of which an extract was published in SBC Dr Strangelove – A Surreal World, I believe it appropriate to explain some background.

Recording Background

The recording was the second phone call “Mr X” received from Cllr Michelle Donohue-Moncrieff (MDM). Mr X was eating his dinner with his wife and informed MDM that the speakerphone was switched on. The gentleman’s wife heard both the calls, she was understandably shocked and terrified by them.

For the purpose of safeguarding, the spontaneous decision was taken to record the phone call. Given the circumstances, I fully understand and support this action.

In both conversations, MDM talked about her perceived grievances against Mr X, his wife and several SBC Cllrs and made threats to kill all of them.

After the calls, Mr X contacted a SBC Cllr to make Safeguarding aware and to name those that MDM had stated the desire to murder. The Cllr could not contact Safeguarding so he referred the information to North Yorkshire Police.

I would like to thank Scarborough and Whitby MP Robert Goodwill and Barry Khan, North Yorkshire County Council Assistant Chief Executive (Legal and Democratic Services) for both getting back to me with regards the information I have raised with them in relation to this sad affair.

Robert has noted my email and Barry has referred the matter to the Police.
