I have been receptive to Pocklington Provincial Ward residents who have contacted me expressing disappointment in the three current ERYC Conservative Ward Councillors.
NB: Pocklington Provincial Ward covers Pocklington, Stamford Bridge, Wilberfoss, Barmby Moor, Sutton Upon Derwent, Newton Upon Derwent, and The Catton’s.
After being a very proactive, Independent ERYC Ward Councillor for Pocklington Provincial between 2016 and 2019 I lost the 2019 election by 14 votes on a 32% turnout.
Like others, I despair of the constant “Political Party A” attacking “Political Party B”, etc.. at East Riding of Yorkshire Council (ERYC). Especially given the mess we all find ourselves in, I would encourage all concerned to stop “my Dad is bigger than your Dad” party politics and focus on harmony.
Over the past 3 to 4 years my life has been very fulfilling. I have deepened my commitment to my Buddhist practice, enjoyed precious time with my wife Ruth, and been fortunate to decorate our home to a showroom standard.
My business interests have been very rewarding. My Consultancy business pays more than what I received as a Councillor. While my Painting and Decorating business has been busier than ever. However, I enjoy giving back showing honesty and integrity and have the will to get things done for those who can’t.
I am humbled by the messages of support. Please see A Councillor’s Residents Become Friends.
Willing To Stand
As a Buddhist, my intention must always be to benefit others. For this reason, I am delighted to inform everyone that I am willing to stand for election in the May 2023 ERYC Election.
But, to do this help is required.
I would need at least 20 residents to help me deliver election leaflets. If you would like to help please contact me.
