ERYC Election – Support Local Business

Having run a local painting and decorating business for 39 years since I was 19 I am very mindful of the importance of supporting local businesses.

Without others supporting my business, particularly through the lockdown, I would not be in a position now to stand for election to help others.

In recent years, with lockdown and over 10% inflation, we have all witnessed closures on the High Street including banks. Unless we support local businesses we will contribute to further closures.

The printing industry has faced greater challenges than most in recent years. Being alive to the challenges local businesses need to meet I believe we should endeavour to support them.

Learning By Mistakes

In Learning By Mistakes, I acknowledged that we all make mistakes and that we should just apologise and learn from them.

I am rather surprised that my fellow Pocklington Provincial candidates for the Conservatives printed their election leaflets in Leeds while the Liberal Democrats had theirs printed in Manchester instead of supporting local business.

Moving forward, I encourage all Conservative and Liberal Democrat candidates to ensure that they learn from their mistakes and support local businesses by having all of their leaflets printed locally.
