BEWARE – DANGER TO A19 MOTORISTS
In my role as a Consultant, I have become increasingly aware of the danger to motorists at Brookes Garage, Shipton-by-Beningborough on the A19 between York and Thirsk.
Due to encroachment onto his premises from those using Brookes Garage, my client, who owns the neighbouring property, was forced to put concrete barriers in place to protect his interests. As a result, large vehicles using the garage are now unable to manoeuvre around the rear of the garage. Previously they trespassed on my client’s land to enter and leave the garage premises, impeding my client’s lawful access to his own premises.
In my opinion, North Yorkshire County Council Highways, North Yorkshire County Council Petroleum, and Hambleton District Council Planning have collectively failed to ensure a safe environment for the public. I can confirm that I have had extensive sight of communication between my client and both Councils.
In the interests of openness and transparency, I now feel I have no alternative but to make the video below available to the public. This happened at 13.19 Friday 25 November 2022.
